There lived a poet in Bengal in 15th century, Chandidas. He was a folk poet and wrote several verse on Lord Krishna (these verse are popularly known as 'Padavali'). For quite a long period of time his verse, in true sense, over-flooded the entire Bengal. These verse are known as 'Kirtan' and are sung with specific 'Ragas'. These songs are being sung even today. There are much controversy about the origin and identity of Chandidas, but there should not be any such that he has written the greatest words of humanism.
“শুনহ মানুষ ভাই,
সবার উপরে মানুষ সত্য, তাহার উপরে নাই।”
Listen you man, my brother;
Man is above all,
else none.
