India’s badminton queen Saina Nehwal will be back on court at ‘YONEX Denmark Open 2012’ on 17^th October (Wednesday) after lying low since winning the bronze medal at the London Olympics Aug 5. In the penultimate Super Series Premier of the season Saina, now world’s no 4, is third seeded. Her first match is against a South Korean, Yeon Ju Bae, against whom Saina has a 4-2 head-to-head record. However, their last clash was won by the South Korean in the second round of the Indian Open in April.

Saina reaches the quarter finals of Denmark Open, 2012

 Saina Nehwal comfortably reaches the quarter finals of Denmark open defeating World number 28 Japanese, Minatsu Mitani 21-15 21-14 in a 20-minute women’s singles second round contest.

The 22-year-old India will next take on the winner of another pre-quarterfinal match between qualifier Lok Yan Poon and fifth seed Tine Baun tomorrow.

Saina Nehwal enters into semifinals of Denmark Open.

 Saina Nehwal, enters into the semifinals of YONEX Denmark Badminton Open Tournament, 2012 defeating Tine Baun in straight games. Third seed Saina took just 33 minutes to beat fifth seed Baun 21-10 21-11 to make the last-four stage where she will be up against an opponent who has beaten her in all their six previous encounters.

 In the semifinal Saina has to play against Yihan Wang of China, world number one, against whom she lost in London Olympic. Of course the next match is going to be the toughest for Saina in the tournament. Let’s see whether Saina can take the revenge of London Olympic defeat.

  Saina Nehwal, enters into the Final of YONEX Denmark Badminton Open Tournament, 2012. During the semifinal match Yihan Wang of China leaves the match due to injury. In the first game Saina beats Wang 21-12, and in the second game Saina was leading by 12-7 when Wang quit the match.In the final Saina will face Juliane Schenk of Germany on Sunday.
